Entry Information
Bring entries on Saturday, September 20 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Sunday, September 21 from
1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Awards:  1st place: $5 & blue ribbon; 2nd place: $3 & red ribbon; 3rd place: $2 & white ribbon

Best of Show Award - Departments 7 & 9 will be judged together.  $15 award for one adult entry
and one youth entry and a best of show ribbon.

Class:        
A – ages 18–64   C - Youth Ages 13 - 17   E – Youth ages 8 & under
B – ages 65 & up                   D – Youth ages 9–12   F - Professional
  • LIMIT - ONE EXHIBIT PER LOT PER EXHIBITOR

  • All entries accepted at the director’s discretion.

  • Each entry must have been dried since last year’s fair and never before entered in the
    Chowan County Regional Fair. 

  • Products will be judged on dehydration, color, and texture.

  • All items should be displayed in clear jars with lids, if possible. 

  • Approximately 1 to 2 cups of dried fruit or vegetable should be used, except for meat or
    fruit leathers.

  • Leathers should be chewy, and dried in a sheet with pureed product.

  • Several rolls or sheets of fruit leathers should be displayed.

  • Several strips of jerky should be displayed.

  • All entries must be picked up the Sunday immediately following the fair between the hours of
    11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
