2010 Hog Fest Cornhole Tournament Registration
4th Annual Hog Fest in Historic Edenton, North Carolina
April 30 -
May 1, 2010

DOWNLOAD A PRINTABLE FLYER & APPLICATION FOR THE CORNHOLE CHAMPIONSHIP HERE.

Hog Fest in Historic Edenton’s goal is to provide a “competitor friendly / family friendly” atmosphere for the 2010 Hog Fest CORNHOLE Tournament.  It is expected that all participants will have the same goal and conduct themselves in such a manner.

The 1st Annual Hog Fest Cornhole Tournament will be conducted in accordance with the American Cornhole Association rules.  Cost per tournament is $30.00 per team.  Competition will occur rain or shine; night play will be under lights. There is no cost for the winning teams in the Championship Tournament.  All prize money is based on participation.  You may register as a team or draw for a partner.  All disputes will be settled by tournament officials; all decisions by officials are final.  Registration may be paid for by check or credit card.  For further details on all Hog Fest in Edenton events and competitions, refer to this website.

TOURNAMENT: The tournament will use a 2 person team, double elimination format through the Preliminary Tournaments.  The Championship Tournament will be a single elimination "sudden death" competition.  The competition will consist of at least 4 Preliminary Tournaments.  The Preliminary Tournaments will determine which teams will advance to the Championship Tournament. In addition to advancement, a cash prize will be awarded to the winning team based on the number of participants.

PRELIMINARY TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE:

  • Friday, April 30

    • Registration 5:00 pm, play begins at 5:30 pm

    • Registration 7:00 pm, play begins at 7:30 pm

  • Saturday, May 1

    • Registration 9:00 am, play begins at 9:30 am

    • Registration 11:00 am, play begins at 11:30 am

Additional Preliminary Tournaments will be added as needed.  Teams may compete in as many Preliminary Tournaments as they wish.  The team that wins a Preliminary Tournament is automatically advanced to the Championship round.  Winning teams may only qualify for advancement once.  Winning teams may elect to continue playing in subsequent Preliminary Tournaments to compete for additional prize money.  Because they have qualified for the Championship Tournament, if they win another Preliminary Tournament they will only win the prize money and the team finishing in second place will be advanced to the championship round.
Example: Team A wins the first Preliminary Tournament. They win the prize money associated with that tournament and they advance to the Championship Tournament.
Team A decides to play in the second Preliminary Tournament and they win again. They win the prize money for that tournament also but because they are already in the Championship, the “Championship advancement” will go to the second place finisher providing they have not won a Preliminary Tournament.  A single game will be played to determine the second place finisher should there be a dispute.

CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT WILL BEGIN AT 2:30 PM ON SATURDAY, MAY 1.  Pairings will be determined by a hat draw.

PRACTICE: Practice will be Friday, May 1, 2010 from 9:00am to 4:00pm.  There will be 30 minute time limits on a practice session.

AWARDS: Final cash awards and number of places will be determined by total number of team entries.  Trophies will be awarded to the Champion and Runner-Up.

RULES: Rules of the American Cornhole Association will apply.

Unless otherwise stated, decisions by the Hog Fest in Historic Edenton Cornhole Tournament Chairperson are final.
